My cat often rubs noses with me. Is this a greeting gesture?

It's a greeting and perhaps more

In many ways, cats tend to treat friendly humans the way they treat other cats. Touching noses is one of those greeting behaviors which also allows your cat to smell you (they can tell a lot by smell) and to rub some of their scent on you.

Cats are very scent sensitive, and when they live with other creatures, like to have everything smell like them, including you. In a way, when a cat rubs noses with you, it's like claiming you for their own.
