Unusual Cat Names: Inspiration from VPI's List of "Wackiest Pet Names" 

Whenever I see a list of unusual cat names, I often expect some type of reference to bodily functions, a Cleopatra variation, a Chairman Meow reference, and other plays on words.

Well, this year's VPI top 10 was missing some of my favorite word games, although the combined cat and dog list covered much of it.

If you're looking for some inspiration for naming your own kitty, and ready to throw out all the rules so your cat can be different, the list of "Wackiest Pet Names" may be a good starting place.

My favorite in the list? Purr Diem. Chairman Meow is a close second and is one of my all time favorites (a name made famous in the television show, Psych). And, you gotta love Optimus Pants, "Transformers" fan or not. Noticeably absent? Catzilla.
