Travelling with a cat

I'm thinking of getting a kitten. My parents live 1 hour away and my boyfriend lives 3 hours away. If I were to go visit on weekends (every now and then), can I bring the cat with?

Be sure your bf and family are welcoming of your cat, and where they’ll be kept, and eat, and where the litter box will go.

As a general rule, the younger you start out a cat doing certain things, the better. There are plenty of cats that travel, even though most cats don't like car rides and prefer to be in their established territory (at home). If you get your cat used to car rides and being in different places starting at a young age, though, I think it can work out fine.
