Smokey Joe -- my beloved feline companion and best friend

Smokey Joe was a DSH Russian Blue mix. He was gorgeous with silken blue fur, two toned, like a silk scarf to the touch. Brilliant, quite feline, with his sparkling green eyes which entranced you to do anything he wanted.

His gift was just being. He was my best friend, and showed affection by head butting, and licking my face, and hand. He slept with me every night on my shoulder, paw stretched out over my chest. His purrs were low and gentle, but strong and meaningful. I was blessed with having him around for five years.

In his younger years he would play fetch and bring the bally back to me. Later, he was just there, and followed me everywhere. We had a close connection, type bond which will not soon, if ever, be replaced.
