Pooping in the bathtub

All of a sudden for over a week, our cat of three years started pooping in our bathtub. She's never done this before and the litter box is always clean and nearby. I'm confused.

I've seen this happen when a cat is stressed by the environment. I've also seen it happen when a cat is ill.
