Peanut from Palm Desert

We just got home from putting Peanut to sleep. It never gets any easier. He was a good kitty and we will miss him.
We got Peanut along with his brother Prince because the owners who had them didn't want them anymore. It's a long story and not worth mentioning because they (the former owners), just aren't worth the time or effort.
They just moved away and abandon them. Both these guys are nice cats and wouldn't hurt a flea and are lovable friendly and a pleasure to have around.
Peanut loved to chase a string and play with feather cat toys. He liked chasing the little mouse being pulled by string. He wasn't much of a lap cat, but now and then he would surprise you and sit with you.
No matter what you did to him he would never bite or scratch you. It just wasn't his nature. It took him a while to get use to our Saturday morning grooming and learned real fast to find a hiding spots in hope we would forget him (Never Happen).
Towards the end he knew something wasn't right. He became very clingy and wanted to be around you more and more. He would look up at you asking with his eyes to make him better.
Boy I wish there was some magical thing I could have done for him. I felt so bad for him. He would lay on the bed looking at me as if waiting for me to touch him and make things all right.
At the end, he stopped eating and drinking and was losing control and unable to walk. He was truly a special kitty and we will miss him.
