Obituary for Muffin Martin

May 1992 to November 21, 2011

We found Muffy on a sunny June afternoon having passed by a sign on the way home from school that read, "free kittens." We had lost our precious boy, Tiger, just a few weeks earlier. We chose Muffy because she looked so much like Tiger. However, we were in for a surprise as she was quite the opposite in temperament and always the feisty little gal.

That never changed, but we loved her anyway for just being the little character she was. Muffy was my baby through many changes: moving to Idaho, living in the mountains, seeing the boys grow up and move out on their own, moving to town and buying my own home, moving again to the house we now live in... all kinds of losses and changes and good times as well. She was my little buddy.

I remember especially Thanksgivings. Muffy would start howling the minute she smelled the turkey baking in the oven and sit by the dining room table waiting for her share of the turkey, not very patiently. However, this Thanksgiving she wasn't there with us.

After many years of being healthy, happy and very much loved, she went into kidney failure in November. There was nothing that could be done for her, but to keep her as comfortable as possible.

It was evident that she was getting pretty miserable and I made the difficult decision to let her go. We were with her while the vet gave her a sedative and she was already asleep before the euthanasia was administered.

She fell asleep with us petting her and telling her how much we loved her. I will be forever grateful for all the years Muffy was with me and treasured every day that she was there to greet me when I arrived home after work, and the amazing bond we had with each other.

Muffy, I will always keep you in my heart and that will keep you with me forever.

Comfort at the Rainbow Bridge
by: Bonnie Hill

So sorry for your loss. I truly understand because I have been rescuing cats for many years now. I try to think of them at the Rainbow Bridge happy and playing and that we will all be together again eventually and will cross the Bridge together. We have 6 right now and they are loved very much. I also make sure each fur baby that has passed has their picture up on a dresser and some have a paw print given by the veterinary staff which is in dough and baked. God bless.
