They've mated a couple times, but now he won't go near her, although she is in heat. It's been a day or so. He was all over her, but now he has no interest.
Comments for Male cat won't mate with female anymore
I have to say that I agree with Jim and his comment. If you are a breeder, get a mentor to help your cats breed. If you're not, get your cats fixed and adopt a kitten from a shelter if you want a kitten. The shelters are full of kittens right now and sadly, some may not get adopted. I live in a smaller town of 40,000 people, I recently called the no-kill shelters to place some stray cats. because we have a large stray cat population in my rural neighborhood and feel they deserve a chance at a good forever home, anyway the three no kill shelters have 200 kittens right now in the shelters and foster care. Kittens are cute and awesome but, please adopt the ones in the shelters before breeding your own pets.

Sometimes that's how it goes by: Jim W.
Things don't always go as planned. If you're a breeder, the breeders I know have mentors with lots of experience who help them through situations like this.
If you don't have a mentor, you should probably get one since they come in handy when things go wrong. And things will go wrong at some point in the future.
If you're not a breeder, you can go to a shelter and find lots of kittens waiting to be adopted. Then get everybody spayed and neutered so we don't make any more kittens.
