Leave kitten alone at home or bring to new house?

A family member had a serious accident and won’t be home for a few weeks. Is it better to leave her kitten at her house and go in and care for it daily or take it home to our house (there are other cats and dogs here)?

I normally think it's best to leave cats in their own homes, but a small kitten alone most of the time for several weeks might make me think otherwise. If you can go over there several times a day, I'd lean toward leaving the kitten in place. If not, I'd set up a room at the other house where the kitten can stay at first and then transition.
