Jasper "Beans" Johnson

Jasper was the absolute love of my life. Originally, when I first got him, I was told he was a female, so I named him Sabrina.


One of my roommates at the time called him beaner... or beanie bean... One day as Beans was giving himself a bath, we noticed that he was not a female but indeed a male!

We were watching the movie JFK at that moment, and one of the character's names was Jasper. I loved it!

So that's what we called him, but his nickname remained Bean... he was only called his "proper name" (Jasper) when he was naughty. LOL...

Anyway, he lived a wonderful life and passed away at age 19, from cancer that started in his jaw, but eventually spread into his chest.

I actually paid to have surgery to remove the cancer from his jaw so that he could eat, but sadly, they were not able to remove the whole tumor.

I don't regret the insanely high cost of the surgery because all in all, it gave me an extra 5 months with my fur baby. Today, 5/16/17 is his birthday. So to honor him, I wanted to share his story... :)

I know how you feel about Jasper. I know you loved him and still do. I hope you will always remember him. I lost my cat Tomtom, so I know how you feel. Always remember that Jasper is always watching you from the stars. Every night, he looks down on you, waiting for the day he can be reunited with you. I hope you've enjoyed the time you had with Jasper. He will always be in your heart.

I so read the love you had for your boy. 19 is a long time to spend loving him, and I'm sure he loved you back. I spent a lot of money to get just one more month with my love, The Doctor - a cat not the TV show. Any few days/weeks/months spent loving a friend is worth any amount so long as they aren't suffering.

I just finished reading about Jasper "Beans". I can feel all the love and attention he received throughout the many years you were with him.
That is an incredibly long time to be blessed with your kitty. Of course, whether it be 1 year or 20, it is a wonderful time of sharing.
I hope you have taken plenty of pictures and/ or videos of your beloved little Jasper. They do help when things are so painful and raw.
We recently lost our Mr. Franklin and I know he and Jasper are now great friends at The Rainbow Bridge. They will patiently wait for us and we will all be reunited.
