Identifying which cat is urinating

We have 3 cats and for the last 7 months or so one of them has been randomly urinating on clothes on the bathroom floor, in duffle bags and in one particular closet once or twice a month. We're fairly sure one cat is innocent, so we've narrowed it between two we think.


Today we found a duffel bag of clothes peed in and threw it outside to handle later, when my spouse went out to take care of it one of our cats was laying in it with the urine soaked clothes, it wasn't even dry.

My question is, does that mean this cat is the culprit? Will cats lay in their own urine and if not will other cats lay in it?

I had the same situation. I bought an inexpensive video camera and set it up where the urinating was the most prominent.
I was able to see which kitty was the culprit when playing back the video.

I had the same problem. I bought a night vision camera and directed it to a favorite spot to pee. I was able to deduce which one was doing it, but, I've been unable to catch Buddy when he does it. Vet says he is fine physically, and it's behavioral. And yes, he is neutered. I hope you can fix the issue. I've used various products to destroy the scent and it's helped to deter the issue. Sometimes cats will lie down in their own or other cat's urine or on dirty clothes or dirty things in general, so there is no way to know from just that one incident.
