Blackie my kitten
The world is bigger than I thought
Our first Christmas, 2011
Our last Christmas, 2017
My dear friend, Gnat Sue (Blackie) - 17 September 2011 to 19 March 2018. Beloved dear Blackie, I remember your little squeaks as a brave kitten, as you moved to our home in the country.
You were not afraid of the birds and animals, and you befriended them all. Do you remember when your little kitten tail, which was so tatty like a used pipe cleaner fell off?
Your friends found a lyrebird tail, and plaited you the most beautiful tail - the kangaroos could not be smart to you now how their tails were superior, and no, the Kookaburras could not laugh at you tailless anymore - instead they laughed at their own follies.
You gave me the strength to go on during your love, bravery and devotion during my ill health. You beautiful creature of God. You taught me to love an animal.
Now Blackie, seeing you suffer so much from your continual kidney infections, it was so hard for me to finally have you put to sleep to stop you suffering.
Forgive me for taking your precious life Blackie - I know how hard you tried to heal yourself by drinking lots of water and eating grass and co-operating with your Vet. Everywhere I look, I see you here at our little home - our little cottage in the country.
I miss you each night, morning and always. I love you Blackie. As I told you every day of your life... I promise I will always love you Blackie.
Please watch over our little home and keep us safe. My sister told me of a place called Rainbow Bridge - Please wait for me at Rainbow Bridge Blackie, when we shall meet again and never ever part. I love you my darling. You are in my life, dreams and prayers.
Kevin
