Honestly I was not happy the day you were brought home from an adoption event, but then, you singled me out and made sure I was aware that you were here for the duration. From your 'arm captures' to your 'exercises' at the front door and sneaking in our bed every night you slowly but surely stole my heart.

And now there is this void left in your wake. Mom and I miss you so much, the only comfort I can take is that Mom and I were there at the very end, and we tried desperately to let you know that we love you, and I make this promise to you, while you are at the rainbow bridge, Esther, Mom and I will be along soon. We will be together again. We love you Dolly and we miss you.

Hello, just a note to say, I have some idea how you are missing your friend. Do you ever feel a brushing behind your legs or something like that, that you realize she is with you. I lost a beautiful Chocolate Oriental female girl some years ago. Every now and again, I feel that swish across my legs and I instantly know my girl is with me. It brings a smile of comfort, and memories come flashing back. Here's hoping this happens with your girl too. Christine

 Stole my heart

Dear John, she is with you right now. They never leave you and you will always see little glimpses of her out of the corner of your eye. I know, I had a cat that stole my heart. His name was Butterboo. My niece adopted him but when he could no longer go into her room he became mine. He followed and I would carry him to rooms because he would want to be in my arms. He would cuddle and love me to the end. He passed over the Rainbow Bridge from heart failure but I was there at the end. Dolly knows you are grieving but she wants you to bring another home to get close to you after the grieving period so you will not be alone. That is what I did and our cat Toby is a gem. My Butterboo approved. Dolly will too.

 A hole

I buried Dolly today under an ancient oak tree, it's quiet there, it's cool there and with each shovelful of soil I wept. WE miss her so much, seems as if there is a hole in our hearts.
