I worked with a rescue place and used to be a kitty cuddler. I was going twice a week to clean their cages, feed them and give them lovins.
There was this black cat who only had 1 eye. He used to meow and meow. I always like to bring him out of his cage and give him extra lovins.
Not too many people adopt a black cat, especially one with only 1 eye. He was only 18 months old when I got him.
I had another cat at home who he became very good friends with. They were like brother and sister. They would follow each other around to see what kind of mischief they could get into.
I lost my mom in May 2012 and 2 weeks later my Dallas became sick. I thought it was because she missed me as I was away for a month or more with my mom.
Dallas wasn't breathing well and kinda stumbling when she walked around. I made the vet appointment for the following day, but... when I woke up, Dallas had passed away in her sleep.
R.I.P. Dallas I miss you more than words can say.
So...
I moved a month later to a new place, hoping that Bear would like to be able to look out the window at the birds.
He did really well the first few weeks, eating, sleeping and playing just like his old self... then I noticed that his stomach was getting big (chalked that up to too many treats).
He then started doing things that were not normal. Bear was always a very clean cat even though he was feral. He wasn't eating as much and started hanging out in the bathroom.
I was getting concerned so off to the vet we went. It absolutely broke my heart to hear he had Wet FIP and the outcome was not good. I took him home and got him as comfortable as possible.
I couldn't watch him suffer any more. He would look at me as if to say "Please make the pain go away." I had to make the hardest decision in my life. I believe I made the right one.
R.I.P. Bear I love you still and miss you more all the time.
