Cat Memorial: Licorce from New York

Licorce was three when I got him. The girl that use to have him lived up stairs. Licorce was a baby when she got him and I loved him from the beginning.
He was so lovable and at the same time bad. It was her ten year old daughter's cat. When they were moving, her new landlord said she could have Licorce.
A week before they were moving he told them no. They were so upset. So one day they came to my door. There was Vikie (the mom), Mary the ten year old and licorce. Vickie tells me she can't take Licorce and the family took a serious vote on who they want to give Licorce to and I was voted.
Licorce was the cutest. He was so affectionate and loving. He developed asthma and I had him on an asthma pump.
But he was the funniest cat, I always had to keep an eye on him. He would meet me at the door, had to sit on the sofa with him, and he slept with me.
All my friends used to say that is the only cat I know that is close to a human baby. I used to have so much fum with him; he was my little stalker.
As years went by his breathing was getting bad. I used to get up in the middle of the night to boil water for the steam. I changed his cat litter to dust free and got him special food.
I guess he couldn't take it any more, and I did everything I could do. He passed on March 14, 2012. I was at work when my roommate called me. I left work, got home and he was in my living room just laying there. I really thought I was going to die.
I took him to the vet and had him cremated and he is in my living room in a beautiful urn. I miss him soo much and he will always be in my heart.
