Cat Memorial: KC for KittyCat

by Sheila
(Marysville, CA)

My KC passed on Today, Oct 4, 2011. He was 18 years old. In Human years.

I found him when he was probably 5 weeks old. I kept hearing a kitten crying so when I went to look for the kitten I couldn't find him.

Then one day my Husband had seen him underneath his car and he got him. Well that was it, he was so cute... black and white, like a tuxedo.

I named him KC. I had another cat and her name was Simba. She didn't know what to think about KC but they grew to be good buddies.

Simba passed away 2 years ago. She was the meanest cat I ever had. She sure was beautiful.

KC was special. I help find homes for kittens. I take them in and find homes for them. One thing about KC, he sure watched over them and they sure loved him.

They would all cuddle around him and fall asleep. Maybe the kittens knew that he was special.

I sure will miss my KC, he was one of a kind. I truly believe that he came into my life for a reason.

Oh, they loved to play laser light, and it was funny watching them play with him. KC I love you and you will always be in my heart forever. R.I.P My special little angel.

My Heart Breaks
by: David (Spots)

Every time I read a memorial, especially for a cat like KC from a person with a big heart like you obviously have, my heart breaks a little more.

We, too, have suffered many losses of special cats both in our home and out in the field. It sounds like KC was one of those rare, nurturing souls that helped foster those kittens.

We have had the honor of having one in our household, and a couple out in the field, in feral colonies. There is an "old man" right now that we call Mr Miyagi who watches over "the girls" and their kittens.

KC and those like him must have a special patch of grass and catnip near the Bridge, and a nice sofa for people like you for all the little lives you've touched.

Again, I'd also like to thank Kurt for running such a wonderful website that allows us to share stories like yours and KC's.

Bless you,
David

Editor's note: Thanks, David. Your work with Spots and Stripes is much appreciated as well.

I'm sorry to hear about KC, Sheila (and Simba, too). They are together again, playing at the Bridge. RIP little kitties.
