Cat is peeing on her butt and hind legs in the litter box

Problem: I just got a 2-year-old female cat, and when she pees in the litter box, she comes out with pee all over her butt and hind legs. This isn’t a huge issue, it’s just frustrating because she jumps out, then there are little puddles of pee all over.
I was just wondering if anyone knew any solutions, or maybe why this is happening. I just shaved around her back legs, not sure if that will help. I only ever owned male cats before.
