My kitten was found feral at what we assume was 8 weeks. I have never, not once, even with shining a flash light in her eyes, seen her pupils "slit." Her eyes are ALWAYS dilated.
She is Siamese and has bright blue eyes. She seems to be doing perfectly, except I just now realized that cat eyes are supposed to get smaller in light?? Is there something wrong?
If she were my cat, I would get her to the vet as soon as possible. There are a number of causes for dilated pupils that don't constrict with light.
For example, your cat may have high blood pressure (which can be a result of kidney disease). From The Cat Clinic of Roswell:
