Cat cannot tell that its stomach is full?

Is there a condition where a cat cannot tell that its stomach is full? My six-year-old cat has always been a good eater but currently, he just won't or can't stop eating.

We tried giving him a little more food but he can wolf down two sachets and immediately cries for more. When not actually eating he is either licking out the inside of the washing up bowl or sitting by his bowl monotonously miaowing for food.

If any human food is left out he will eat it - bread, cake, oil, anything other than fruit. He no longer wants to leave the kitchen or do anything other than eat, and quite honestly he is becoming a trial to live with because of the constant crying.

Thank you, Jane

Never seen that

I've never seen that kind of behavior to that extreme, but it seems like his body is not getting what it needs from his food. There are some medical conditions that can cause that, such as diabetes. This is especially true if he's eating a lot but losing weight. Parasites, such as tapeworm, would also be a possibility. I would take him to the vet for a diagnosis.
