Beloved Buddy, Loki

My beloved feline Loki - Pixie Bob male buddy of 14 years
My beloved feline buddy, Loki, peacefully crossed over the Rainbow bridge around 1:20 PM, 11 May, 2015 in my arms with my eyes filled with tears and calling his name "My good boy, Loki".
He opened his eyes once more and then giving me a cat kiss, closed them forever. He will be forever missed. I am grateful for the 14 years we had. Too short a time for sure, forever would not have been too long. Fare thee well, Loki.
Loki was the most unusual of the many feline companions I have had. He was of the Pixie-Bob breed and one of three brothers (Loki, Odin, Thor) that we acquired in 2002. Extremely intelligent and interactive, he understood that communication was a two way process.
He knew many phrases. Among his favorite from me was "Show me what you want, Loki". He would immediately spin and make off to an area of the house that would communicate to me what it was he wanted. Other favorite phrases were "Hug-Hug" and "Tummy Rub", "Roll Over" and many more.
He loved to take a nap with me in the afternoon or help me tie my shoelaces each morning. While I worked at the desk he would patiently wait until I paused and raised my arm off the chair arm whereupon he would leap to the arm and then into my lap.
There he would roll on his back and await his "Tummy Rub" accompanying it with a soft rumbling purr.
Loki was a bit unusual in that he liked small kittens and adopted two. They would sleep with him and he would groom them, never had another male do that.
His dark bright eyes were always active and inquiring. I love all of my feline companions, but Loki was different and special. We bonded while he was a young kitten and we both knew it.
I know I was very fortunate to have one like that in my life and Loki was the one. I know time will lessen the ache I feel, but it will never go away completely.
Farewell, Loki, my beloved buddy. Your brother, Odin, eagerly awaits you on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
