(Florida )

There is a rat infestation in the general area the cats have been feeding in for the past decade so can’t feed them there anymore. Suggestions?

Is this a feral colony?
by: James Fink

The US is devolving into a 3rd world country. This kind of situation will only get worse as those who have political power remove funding and remove regulations.

We are proving as a society, that we don't care about the less fortunate, and we are not willing to put the money into fixing the situation. We can subsidize oil companies and billionaires with tax payer dollars from the lower and middle class, but societal problems like this? Nope, we don't care.

Local animal control is already a joke in many places and it will only get worse. Expect more rat infestations. Expect more abandoned animals and no help from the rich or the politicians the rich people own.

If this is a feral colony, there are (or were, not sure now) groups that can, in some cases, relocate them when conditions are bad.

If this is just some group of abandoned cats, well, that's harder. Can you relocate them?

Contact the local news (if they're still actually a news outfit) and see if you can get some publicity. Contact local political officials, the health department, your local representative to Congress, and so on. Maybe there is someone locally who writes for Newsbreak? Or some local shelter that can help?

I wish you much luck with this. The elephant in the room is, what is being done about the rats?
